Why the blog?
I created this blog to share my experience of Anxiety, explore/ discuss ways of creating and maintaining a positive mindset, and I genuinely just want to help people in any way that I can.
I often found myself feeling quite worried, uncomfortable and nauseous when really, I had nothing to actually worry about. Turns out, I had Anxiety and it took me a long time to figure that out. If you have Anxiety, you know how hard it can be. It affects so many of us, but very few are willing to talk about it, although I do feel that is starting to change.
I found a direct link between my Social Media use and my Anxiety. While online (ironic I know), I came across a video about a girl who gave up Social Media for a month and I decided to give it a go after seeing the positive impact it had on her life. For those of you who have experienced Anxiety, you know you will try anything to stop or reduce it. So, offline I went and after two weeks, I felt great - different, but great. My Anxiety was disappearing and I was (and still am) learning a lot about myself and this addiction we seem to have to Social Media and our phones.
II'm back online now, but in a different way. I post uplifting and inspiring posts on my new Instagram page called @ondayslikethisblog. I think it is so important to carefully choose who and what you follow on your Social Media pages, make sure they are inspiring you and NOT making you feel bad.
I wanted to create this blog as a personal project and platform to help as many people as I can, by sharing my experience and tips. Since the experiment, I’ve found great ways of balancing my life by putting myself, my goals and my wellbeing first. So, I’m here to talk about my experience with Anxiety, Self Development and hopefully I can help you start to create a more positive frame of mind and start putting yourself FIRST.
